Serving Volusia County, Florida and Beyond

Looking to find your dream home in sunny Volusia County, Florida? Let me introduce you to five amazing cities that you’ll absolutely love. I’ve spent nearly my entire life focused on learning the ins and outs of this beautiful community and I’m so proud to call it “home”!

Each of these cities offers a unique mix of natural beauty, fun activities, and warm neighborhoods that are perfect for you to settle into and thrive. Let’s find your perfect match in Volusia County!

1. New Smyrna Beach (NSB)

New Smyrna Beach is a charming coastal town known for its pristine beaches and vibrant arts scene. I’ve raised my family here and cannot TELL you how amazing it is for those wanting a BIG personality with a small town vibe!

The city is a haven for surfers, boasting some of the best waves on the East Coast, particularly at spots like the NSB Inlet. Historic Canal Street offers a delightful array of boutique shops, galleries, and restaurants, and hosts numerous events such as the annual IMAGES: Festival of the Arts.

But, occasional events aren’t just it! NSB also offers rich cultural experiences, including performances at The Little Theatre and exhibits at the Atlantic Center for the Arts. With excellent schools, a strong sense of community, and abundant outdoor activities like fishing, boating, and beachcombing, you can find the best in land and water here.

2. Ponce Inlet

Ponce Inlet is a serene, picturesque town located at the southern tip of a barrier island, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. The iconic Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse and Museum, Florida’s tallest lighthouse, is a centerpiece of the town and offers stunning panoramic views.

If you want a quiet, laid-back lifestyle with access to beautiful, uncrowded beaches, such as the secluded Lighthouse Point Park… this may be the place for YOU!

I love visiting when I need my dose of nature-time, because it’s a perfect area for outdoor enthusiasts, with excellent fishing, boating, and surfing opportunities.

My favorite place, however, is the Marine Science Center, which rehabilitates sea turtles and birds! With its safe, peaceful environment and close-knit community, Ponce Inlet is an ideal spot for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

3. Daytona Beach Shores

Daytona Beach Shores is a coastal community renowned for its expansive, scenic beaches and luxurious oceanfront living. The city is home to several high-end condominiums and resorts that offer spectacular ocean views. For recreation, residents can visit the Oceans Golf Club, a popular par-3 course, or take advantage of the numerous beachfront parks like Frank Rendon Park.

You may hear the name DAYTONA BEACH for Spring Break, but we assure you… this city has so much more than tourists!

Daytona Beach Shores also provides easy access to the bustling Daytona Beach area, famous for its motorsports events at Daytona International Speedway and lively entertainment options along the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. With its combination of relaxation and recreation, along with a wealth of dining and shopping choices, Daytona Beach Shores offers a resort-like lifestyle or wish to have an always-active lifestyle.

4. Port Orange

Port Orange is a thriving city known for its family-friendly atmosphere, excellent schools, and well-planned neighborhoods. The city is home to several beautiful parks, including the sprawling Riverwalk Park, which features walking trails, a splash pad, and a fishing pier.

There’s a charm in Port Orange that I just ALWAYS have to share with my potential buyers. This city is not to be overlooked by bigger and more beach-centric towns.

The city’s commitment to preserving its natural beauty is evident in places like the Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens, a historic botanical garden. Port Orange also hosts a range of community events, such as the annual Port Orange Family Days and the summer Concert in the Park series. With a strong local economy, access to quality healthcare, and a wide range of recreational activities, Port Orange is an attractive place for families and professionals alike. It’s an AMAZING place to work and play!

I personally estimate that Port Orange will continue to grow as a community for years to come.

5. Edgewater

Edgewater is a welcoming riverside community located along the Indian River, offering a slower pace of life and a close-knit community spirit. The city is known for its scenic waterfront parks, such as the beautiful George R. Kennedy Memorial Park, which features boat ramps, fishing docks, and picnic areas.

Edgewater is also part of the East Coast Greenway, a series of trails perfect for walking and biking. The city’s affordable housing and strong local businesses create a supportive environment for residents. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the nearby Canaveral National Seashore, a protected area offering pristine beaches and abundant wildlife.

If you REALLY like the vibe of New Smyrna Beach, there’s a comparable atmosphere here! Edgewater hosts a variety of local events, including the annual EdgeFest, which features live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities. With its blend of natural attractions and community-oriented lifestyle, Edgewater is an appealing choice for those seeking a balance between tranquility and convenience.
